About Shifting Gears Garage

We are a husband and wife team who work hard and dream big. We've been together forever, married in 2011, and have three kids. 

Brandon studied Diesel Technology at Massanutten Technical Center in 2004. His passion for the diesel world never left although his career path took other directions. 

He spent several years in the concrete and asphalt business. He then followed open opportunities in the poultry industry. Growing up on a poultry farm instilled that hard work mentality and a deep appreciation for farming and agriculture. His last job before starting SGG was working for ChoreTime as an area service manager with a large territory stretching up the east coast.  

In 2020 we had our second child, Hudson. 

In 2021 we took over daily operations of the farm Brandon grew up on, with Amanda doing the daily tasks while Brandon held employment off the farm. 

In 2023 Hudson would be diagnosed with severe autism. 

Raising a child with special needs and running a farm while Brandon traveled for his job became too much. 

                      It was time to shift gears. 

We prayerfully considered how to make another income from home and ended up turning our old litter shed into a shop.

We started Shifting Gears Garage in January of 2024 as a side job. 

We went full time in June of 2025.

We roped in our lifelong friend, Jacob Seekford who started full time in May 2026. He completes the team.

We love this industry and are truly blessed to earn a living doing what we love to do.  We hope and strive to be a blessing to our community and customers.
